Local Priorities 'Speeding Traffic Update' - Community Speed Watch Event held on Woolleybridge Rd, Hadfield - Tuesday 11th August

Glossop SNT - Community Speed Watch Event 

PCSO Buller and 4  volunteers from the Hadfield Community Speed Watch Team completed an event on Woolleybridge Rd Hadfield this afternoon, Tuesday 11th August.

The event was held there between 2 45 pm  and  3.45 pm - with the speed limit being 30 mph on this stretch of road.

On this occasion a total 280 vehicles went by the team during the time the event took place today and 24 of those vehicles were recorded as speeding above 35 Mph. with the highest being recorded at 51 mph.

Speeding has been identified by the community in Hadfield as one of their Policing Priorites for the area.  With the community speaking out by using our Community Voice Surveys online and when engaging with members of the safer neighbourhood teams when out and about or at local engagement events etc.

The team and volunteers would  like to say thank you to the community from the Hadfield/Padfield and Tintwistle areas for their help in identifying their concerns regarding speeding, particularly at this location.

And lastly the SNT would like to show our appreciation to the 4 volunteers (with one of them on her very first event) who gave up their free time today, to try and make our roads safer and to help reduce speeding in your local communitiy.
